Alabama Pecan Pie

Mom got this recipe from one of her friends at the Huntsville Park Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. They praised the Lord and raised Southern cooking to a high art form.

Ingredients

1 cup corn syrup

1 tablespoon butter

1/8 teaspoon salt

3 eggs

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

1 cup chopped pecans

1 uncooked pie shell

Directions

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Pour into uncooked pie shell and bake slowly at 300 degrees for about one hour.

Allow to cool. Serve with whip cream or all by itself.
