Mike’s Best Meatloaf

My Mom would occasionally make meatloaf and it was always delicious. This is a recipe I found (and modified) that is also very delicious and has become a family favorite. It takes about 10 minutes to prepare and an hour to cook.

Ingredients

‍ 1 large egg

‍ 1/4 cup milk

‍ 2 Tbsp. ketchup

‍ 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

‍ 1 Tbsp. A1 steak sauce

‍ 2 tsp. onion powder

1 tsp. smoked paprika

‍ 1 tsp. dried parsley leaves

‍ 3/4 tsp. salt

‍ 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

‍ 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

‍ Dash of ground red pepper

1 cup panko bread crumbs, plain

1 lb. 90% lean ground beef

1/2 cup sweet BBQ sauce for topping

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the egg and milk together, then add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, A1 sauce, onion powder, parsley, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper. Whisk all ingredients together and then add the panko bread crumbs and ground beef. Use your hands to mush and mix these ingredients together until very well combined.
  • Add the meat mixture to an oiled or non-stick loaf pan. Pat the meat down into an even layer.
  • Spread the BBQ sauce evenly on top.
  • Bake uncovered for 55 minutes.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 8-10 minutes before serving.
