Alexander immigrated from Ireland in abt. 1745 with his wife, children, and brothers. Their port of entry was Philadelphia. He was a Scots Presbyterian. Alexander lived four years in Lancaster Co., Pa. and then moved to Rockingham Co., VA On Jan. 11, 1775 he was old, infirm, and lived in Rowan Co., NC. At his death, his son Alexander received the plantation and the seven other children recieved 1/7 of the remaining property. This information comes from Kaye Van Fleet.
