In 1792 or 1793, Alexander volunteered as a soldier for the duration of "Wayne's War" (Creek and Cherokee Indians), under Capt. Jonas Fauche. He joined the company of Horse certified May 4, 1793, by commander Robert Milton. Certified by Capt. Jonas Fauche and John Harrison, both of the militia Dragoons for service in June 1792, July 1794, and December 1795, January and February 1796. Honorably discharged at Greensborough, Georgia in 1796.
