Basil Brashears was the husband of Ann Belt Brashears. His birth is registered at St. Barnabas Protestant Episcopal Church in Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George's County, Maryland. He was the son of Samuel and Ann Jones Brashears. Bazil's wife, Ann, was the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Middleton Belt. Bazil's burial place is unknown at this time. He probably died after 1790, in South Carolina, when he would have been about 76 years of age. He lived in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. There are many deed records to verify this. He had financial difficulties for many years and was bankrupt by May of 1763.
