Birthabt 994, Dublin, Ireland
Death1035, England, en route to Rome
Misc. Notes
Olaf of Dublin. Probably the Olaf slain by the "Saxons" in England while en route to Rome on a pilgrimage in 1035.
The Welsh biographer of Gruffydd ap Cynan says Auloed was the King of Dublin and a fifth of Ireland and of Man and many other islands. He was a descendant of Harald Haarfagr. Auloed's mother was the daughter of King Brian (Boru), so Gruffydd sprang from the noblest royal lines of Wales, Norway and Ireland.
The kingship of Dublin was transferred to Olaf around 1028 when his father, Sihtric Silkbeard went on pilgrimmage to Rome.
