George Stovold was born in 1588 in Surrey, England. he married Margaret Farley on 11 October 1612. Margaret was born in 1593 to Richard and Elizabeth ( Aldridge) Farley alias Deane of Farley Green (village), Albury, Surrey, England.
George, a blacksmith by trade, lived in Wonersh, Surrey. He and others benefited from the sale of the estate left behind after the death of Margaret's father, Richard Farley. The Estate included two messuages (houses and lots) and gardens with seven acres of land in Farley Green and Albury. George and Margaret stayed in Wonersh long enough to have their third child Anne baptized.
George was named as executor of his brother John's will on December 15, 1632. After a period of time they moved back to Albury where George died sometime before February 26, 1657/58,(the date at which his wife is listed as a Widow with a son named William in Albury). Most of the records from this period are missing due to the Chasm in the Albury Register.
In 1613, George Stovald and Christopher Lidger of West Clandon, Surrey, England, were indicted for an alleged assault on John Nipps of Albury. The alldged assault happened on March 19,1612/13 in Albury, But george was found not guilty on July 1,1613 at Southwark. At the general court hearings, Nipps was accused of attacking George on October 20, 1611 at Shere.
Three of George and Margaret's children have baptismal records, the other two are listed in the Will of William Stoffold. Children of George and Margaret include: Anne; baptized in Albury 24 April 1614 but died young. Mary; baptized in Albury on 21 July,1616. Anne; baptized in Wonersh on 2 January 1621/22. (second Anne in the family) George; born circa 1623. WIlliam born circa 1625.
