OBITUARY

Thursday, January 29, 1959 edition of the Anniston Star

Alvin Leo Poole, 66, of Ohatchee, Rt 2 died in a Gadsden nursing home yesterday afternoon following a short illness.  He was a retired farmer and a resident of Ohatchee most of his life.  Mr. Poole was a member of Ten Island Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I.

The body will lie at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Bill Haver, on the Gadsden Highway, until the time for the services.  Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Bowery Baptist Church, with the Revs. Floyd Crowe and L.D. Ross officiating.  Burial, directed by Usrey, will be in the Middleton cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Ralph of Anniston, and Grady and Bill Poole of Ohatchee; two daughters, Mrs. Bob Lloyd of Saks and Mrs. Bill Haver Ohatchee RFD; two brothers, Otto, of Tusscaloosa and Carl Poole of Ohatchee; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Simpson and Mrs. Lois Conner, of Ohatchee and thirteen grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.  Members of Masonic Lodge 380 of Ohatchee will be honorary pallbearers and conduct graveside rites.
