OBITUARY
Friday October 9, 1936 issue of Anniston Star newspaper
W.L. Poole passes at Ohatchee Home Funeral Saturday
An illness of a week closed with the death of W.L. Poole age 78, at his residence on Ohatchee, Route 1 at 3:25 o'clock this morning. Funeral services will be conducted from the Union Methodist Church at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon by the Rev. John Doss followed by interment in Union cemetery with Usrey in charge. Pallbearers will be grandsons Douglas, J.C., Lawrence and L.V. Poole, Gartrell Simpson and Frank Striplin.
Mr. Poole was a member of Ohatchee Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, four sons, Vell, Carl, Leo and Otto of Ohatchee, two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Simpson and Mrs. Louis Connor of Ohatchee; a brother George of Ohatchee, two half-brothers Jim Osborne of Roswell, Georgia and Lowery Osborne, Chambers, Georgia; a sister, Mrs. Mary Lowery of Atlanta, 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
