William was called "Taylor" because he was a Tailor by trade. He was also known as "Pacolet" POOLE. He had large holdings on the Pacolet River, and was the first postmaster in that part of South Carolina. His first home in SC, a unique "block house" was owned in 1970 by Dr. Ezell of Spartanburg SC, and was used by his family as a "weekend cottage".

There is no such person as "Morgan" Poole. Records for Goucher Baptist Church in Spartanburg clearly list both ANNA (not Mary Ann) and MARYAN (not Morgan) Poole as being members at the same time. Anna had already married Henry Pettit, and Maryan was never married. Anna transferred to another church by letter, and Maryan and Sarah Quinn (another sister) were "dismissed" from the church.
